Learning to Cook Chinese Food

我一直想学做中国菜，所以买了一本菜谱。

I've always wanted to learn to cook Chinese food, so I bought a cookbook.

第一次我决定试着做番茄炒鸡蛋。

The first time I decided to try making scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

我先把番茄洗干净，切成小块。

First, I washed the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces.

然后在锅里放一点油和盐。

Then I added a little oil and salt to the pan.

可是火太大了，菜很快就糊了。

But the heat was too high, and the dish quickly burned.

第二次我把火关小，认真地炒。

The second time I turned down the heat and stir-fried carefully.

这次的味道好多了，家人都说不错。

This time it tasted much better, and my family said it was good.

原来做饭也需要耐心和练习。

It turns out cooking also requires patience and practice.
