The weather is lovely today. Grandpa is out in the garden all by himself, his hands covered in dirt.

Grandpa, what are you digging?

我想几棵花。来，跟爷爷一起，好不好？
I want to plant a few flowers. Come here and plant them with me, all right?

好啊！我最喜欢花了！
Yes! I love flowers more than anything!
Grandpa
那你去拿点水来，花儿渴了要喝水。
Then go fetch some water. The flowers are thirsty and need a drink.
孩子跑去拿水，爷爷把花放进里。两个人了一上午。
The boy ran off to get water while Grandpa settled each flower into the soil. The two of them planted all morning long.
Waiting for the Flowers to Bloom

爷爷你看，这些花红红的，真！
Grandpa, look! These flowers are so red and so pretty!
Grandpa
对呀。你每天来给它们，过几天就了。
They are. Come water them every day, and in a few days they'll bloom.
孩子点点头，看着小花笑了。明天，他还要来。
The boy nodded and smiled at the little flowers. Tomorrow, he would come back again.
