Progressive aspect (action in progress)

Explanation

Used to express an action that is happening at the moment of speaking. The common structures are '在/正在 + verb' or '在/正/正在 + verb + 呢'. For example: '孩子在睡觉' (The child is sleeping) or '他在打电话呢' (He is making a phone call).
