能愿动词

Modal verbs (能愿动词)

Explanation

Modal verbs in Chinese are placed before the main verb to express possibility, permission, or request, for example '可能' (might) and '可以' (may/can). '可能' is usually used to speculate about the likelihood of something happening, as in '他可能出去了' (He may have gone out). '可以' is used to ask for or grant permission, as in the question '老师,我可以进来吗?'
