Using "吧" to form questions
Explanation
吧 (ba) is a modal particle (a function word placed at the end of a sentence to express attitude or sentence type), placed at the END of a sentence to form a question when the speaker has already GUESSED the answer fairly accurately and merely wants to confirm it.
(a declarative sentence - a normal statement) + 吧？
您是经理吧？ (You are the manager, right?).
Use it when you are fairly sure of something and want the listener to confirm, translated as '...right?', '...aren't you?'. Different from 吗 (ma) - 吗 is used when you really don't know, asking neutrally.
吗 (ma) asks when you completely don't know the answer (你是经理吗 - are you the manager?); 吧 (ba) asks when you have guessed and just want confirmation (你是经理吧 - you are the manager, right?).
Vietnamese learners often mix up 吧 and 吗. When you already have a guess, use 吧; when you truly don't know, use 吗. Don't use both together in one sentence.
