Explanation

This is a structure used to describe the appearance of a person or thing at a location. The basic structure is: word indicating place + verb + directional/resultative complement + particle '了' (if any) + quantity phrase + person/thing. Note that the verb is usually accompanied by a complement to indicate the direction of movement or the result of the action, helping the listener picture it more clearly. Besides appearance, this structure also expresses disappearance: place word + verb + resultative complement + '了' + quantity phrase + person/thing, e.g. '我们班里转走了一个学生'.
