你X你的吧
nǐ X nǐ de ba
The structure '你 V 你的吧' (Just go ahead and V)
Explanation
The structure 你X你的吧 (nǐ X nǐ de ba) is a colloquial way of telling someone to 'just go ahead and do your X', reassuring them that they need not worry about the speaker. X is a verb.
你 (nǐ) + verb + 你的 (nǐ de) + 吧 (ba). The mood particle (function word expressing the attitude or nuance of a sentence) 吧 ba at the end makes the tone gentle and advisory. For example 你吃你的吧 = 'you just go ahead and eat'.
When you want the other person to feel at ease continuing their own activity (eating, resting, working) without having to mind or defer to the speaker. The nuance is intimate and sincere.
你的 nǐ de here does not refer to a specific possession but figuratively means 'your own business'. The person can be changed: 他玩他的 tā wán tā de ('he just plays his own way'), 我做我的 wǒ zuò wǒ de.
Vietnamese learners often translate mechanically and drop the 的 de or 吧 ba, making the sentence unnatural. Remember the full template 你 + verb + 你的 + 吧.
