随着
suí zhe
随着 (suí zhe) – Along with / As
Explanation
随着 (suízhe) is a preposition (a word placed before a noun to indicate a relationship) meaning "along with / as", used to say that one change brings about another change happening in parallel.
随着 + [an event/process of change],[the change that follows as a result]. The part after 随着 is usually a noun phrase such as 时间的推进 (shíjiān de tuījìn = the passing of time), 冬天的到来 (dōngtiān de dàolái = the arrival of winter).
When you want to express two changes happening in step: as A changes, B changes accordingly. Often used in formal/written usage (usage found in books and documents), for example describing a trend or a process of development.
随着 must go with a noun phrase indicating a process/change, and you do not place a full clause with a separately conjugated verb directly after it; you should say 随着经济的发展 (with the development of the economy), not 随着经济发展了. Vietnamese learners often forget the character 的 in the noun phrase (时间的推进). Also do not confuse 随着 with 跟着 (gēnzhe = to physically follow behind someone).
