X了就X了,(没)有⋯⋯

X liǎo jiù X liǎo , ( méi ) yǒu ⋯ ⋯

The structure X了就X了 - accepting a done deal

Explanation

X了就X了 is a colloquial pattern (口语格式: a spoken conversational pattern) expressing an attitude of accepting what is already done, meaning 'if it's X, then so be it, no big deal'.

Structure

X + 了 (le: already) + 就 (jiù: then) + X + 了 , (没)有… (followed by a reassuring clause). X is usually a verb/adjective denoting something unfavorable: 坏 (huài: broken), 输 (shū: to lose).

When to use

when you want to appear relaxed, letting go of an unpleasant thing that has happened and not wanting to dwell on it any longer; usually followed by a clause like 有什么大不了的 (yǒu shénme dàbùliǎo de: what's the big deal) or 没有什么好难过的 (méiyǒu shénme hǎo nánguò de: there's nothing to be sad about).

Note

X on both sides must be the SAME word (坏了就坏了, not switching to a different word); 就 (jiù) in the middle carries the sense of 'then just leave it that way'.

Common mistakes

changing the word on the two sides so they differ (which breaks the pattern); forgetting the 了 in one of the two parts; and rigidly translating 就 as 'right away/immediately' instead of understanding it as 'then just so'.
