Grammar

Where an action is happening

S + 在 + 地点 + 动词

Used to describe an action taking place at a specific location. This pattern combines 在 (at, in) with a place noun, followed by a verb.

他在图书馆看书。

tāzàitúshūguǎnkànshū。

He is reading a book at the library.

我在家里写字。

wǒzàijiālǐxiězì。

I am writing characters at home.

Wanting to do something

S + 想 + 动词 + (宾语)

Used to express the speaker's wish or intention. The word 想 is placed right before the main verb.

我想买一本书。

wǒxiǎngmǎiyìběnshū。

I want to buy a book.

你想喝什么？

nǐxiǎnghēshénme？
