千、万、亿

Large numbers: thousand, ten-thousand, hundred-million

Explanation

In Chinese, the units thousand (千), ten-thousand (万), and hundred-million (亿) are used to express large quantities. When reading numbers, you combine them with the digits 0 to 9 and the units hundred, thousand, ten-thousand, and hundred-million. For example: 一千二百五十二 (1252), 两万一千四百六十五 (21465), 四亿五千万 (450000000). Note how a 0 in the middle is read, as in 三千零五十 (3050) and 五万零六百 (50600).
