形容词重叠:AA、AABB

Adjective reduplication (AA, AABB)

Explanation

In Chinese, some adjectives can be reduplicated to emphasize degree or create a more vivid feeling. The 'AA' structure is used for monosyllabic adjectives, for example '高高的' (nice and tall). The 'AABB' structure is used for two-syllable adjectives, for example '干干净净' (spick and span). Usually, '的' is added after the reduplicated form when it functions as an attributive or predicate, and '地' when it functions as an adverbial.
