对⋯⋯来说
duì ⋯ ⋯ lái shuō
The structure '对⋯⋯来说' (As for...)
Explanation
The fixed structure 对⋯⋯来说 (duì...láishuō) means "for..., as far as... is concerned", used to present the viewpoint or perception of a person or group about something.
对 (duì – for) + object + 来说 + assessment. The whole phrase 对...来说 usually stands at the head of the sentence, functioning as an adverbial (adverbial → an element indicating time, place, or manner), followed by an evaluation — 对专家来说,这个问题很容易 (for an expert, this problem is very easy).
when you want to say "from someone's point of view", emphasizing that the same matter is one way for this person but different for another.
often forgetting the character 来 (writing it short as 对...说); and you cannot replace the object with a whole long clause — after 对 there is usually a noun/pronoun referring to a person or group (对我来说, 对学生来说).
