一会儿⋯⋯,一会儿⋯⋯
yí huìr ⋯ ⋯ , yí huìr ⋯ ⋯
One moment...the next.../Sometimes...sometimes...
Explanation
The structure 一会儿⋯⋯,一会儿⋯⋯ (yíhuìr...yíhuìr...) means "one moment... the next...", used to describe two states or actions alternating, switching back and forth in a short time.
一会儿 + A,一会儿 + B (A, B are adjectives, verbs, or verb phrases) — 一会儿冷,一会儿热 (now cold, now hot); 一会儿唱歌,一会儿跳舞 (now singing, now dancing).
when describing continuous, unstable change; it often carries a slightly annoyed nuance (unpredictable weather) but can also be neutral (singing then dancing).
一会儿 must be repeated in BOTH clauses, don't drop the second one (wrong: 一会儿冷,热了); and 一会儿 here differs from 一会儿 meaning "in a moment / a little while" (等一会儿 – wait a moment) — same characters, but only in the repeated structure does it carry the "now... now..." meaning.
Examples
Lately the weather has been a bit strange, one moment cold, the next hot.
At the party they were singing one moment and dancing the next, having a great time.
