连接词或词组:并、以及
lián jiē cí huò cí zǔ : bìng 、 yǐ jí
Conjunctions linking words/phrases: 并 and 以及
Explanation
并 (bìng) and 以及 (yǐjí) are conjunctions (words that connect components within a sentence), used to link words or phrases of equal status, carrying a formal tone.
verb 1 + 并 (bìng) + verb 2 (connecting two actions, e.g. 同意并支持 tóngyì bìng zhīchí = 'to agree and support'); A、B + 以及 (yǐjí) + C (listing nouns, e.g. 小王、小李以及...三名同学).
并 bìng connects two multi-syllable verbs/adjectives, emphasizing addition or simultaneous combination, usually in written language. 以及 yǐjí is used when listing several things, placed before the final item, and usually puts the more important/main element first.
和 hé is the everyday, common "and", connecting nouns; 并 bìng only connects verbs/adjectives (does NOT connect nouns; you cannot say 苹果并香蕉); 以及 yǐjí connects nouns but is more formal than 和 and is used in longer lists.
Vietnamese learners often use 并 to connect nouns (wrong). Also do not use 以及 to connect two simple verbs the way 和/并 would; and remember 以及 goes at the last part of a list chain, not somewhere random in the middle.
