The structure '固然...,也...'
Explanation
'固然……,也……' is the structure of a concessive compound sentence (a sentence that acknowledges one thing and then adds another point). 固然 (gùrán) acknowledges an obvious fact in the first clause ('though it is indeed... true'), then the second clause with 也 (yě) adds/contrasts a different aspect.
[clause] + 固然 (gùrán) + acknowledged fact, + 也 (yě) + added/contrasting point; equivalent to 'though... but also...'.
when you both accept that A is true and also want to add that there is aspect B to note; a considered, argumentative tone. Leans toward written usage.
固然 (gùrán) stresses 'acknowledging that A is true' before pivoting, differing from 虽然 (suīrán – although) in that 固然 affirms A as clearly real more strongly; the clause after 固然 often uses 也/但, whereas 虽然 often pairs with 但是.
what follows 固然 must be something acknowledged as truly the case, not a hypothesis; and do not drop the conjunction linking the second clause (也/但), otherwise the sentence lacks the transitional sense.
Examples
