Explanation
不知X的 (bùzhī X de) is a fixed spoken-language structure indicating that the speaker is unclear about the cause, origin, or agent of something. X is a question word (interrogative word).
不知 (bùzhī) + X (a question word: 怎么 zěnme = how/why, 谁 shéi = who, 哪里 nǎlǐ = where) + 的 (de), usually at the head of the sentence (e.g. 不知怎么的 = for some reason I don't understand; 不知谁说的 = someone, I don't know who, said).
Used in spoken/colloquial language (everyday speech), expressing puzzlement, vagueness, or surprise at something that happens without a clear cause; often used at the opening to lead into the main content.
不知怎么的 leans toward "for some reason I don't understand" (unclear cause); whereas 不知不觉 (bùzhī bùjué) means "unknowingly, unconsciously" — completely different, don't confuse them.
Dropping the 的 (de) at the end (which breaks the fixed structure); using an X that is not a question word; placing this structure at the end of the sentence instead of the beginning (it usually must stand at the head to lead into the idea).
