Explanation
This structure is used to emphasize that if even the person/thing in the first clause cannot/then naturally the person/thing in the latter clause also cannot or will be so. 连 (lián) is placed before the emphasized element in the first clause, usually with 都/也, meaning 'even'. 更不用说 (gèng bùyòng shuō) literally means 'all the more no need to say', used to add and further emphasize the point.
