S + V + 过 + (O)Use verb + 过 to talk about an action that has happened at least once in the past, usually emphasizing the experience. Often used with time words such as 以前 (before).
我听过这个事。
I’ve heard about this before.
你知道这个地方吗？我去过。
Do you know this place? I have been there.
S + 不 / 没(有) + 动词不 negates intentions, habits and qualities; 没 negates something that has happened or that one has. Both go before the verb, and past events always take 没, never 不.
我没听过这个事。
I’ve never heard about this.
不要忘记，走路一会儿就到。
Don’t forget — it’s just a short walk.
