Saying what you are doing and where

S + 在 + 地方 + 动词

在 is placed before a location to indicate where an action takes place. Put 在 + place before the verb to specify what is being done and where.

我在家吃饭。

wǒzàijiāchīfàn。

I eat at home.

他在饭馆吃菜。

tāzàifànguǎnchīcài。

He eats vegetables at the restaurant.

Negating an action (past / not yet done)

S + 没 + 动词

没 is placed before a verb to negate an action that has or has not happened. Use it to say you have not done something or did not do something in the past.

我没吃米饭。

wǒméichīmǐfàn。

I haven't eaten rice.

他没吃饭。

tāméichīfàn。

He hasn't eaten.
